Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving at our house is always a delightful mix of traditional and unexpected flavors. While the classic Pumpkin and Blueberry pies make a comforting appearance on our dessert table, we decided to add a twist this year with the decadently smooth Banana Cream Pie. Trust me, it was a hit! The fluffy layers of vanilla custard with sliced bananas nestled in a buttery graham cracker crust created a heavenly texture that had everyone going back for seconds.
But our love for pies doesn't stop at Banana Cream. We like to keep things exciting and explore different flavors each year. That's why we also had the indulgent Nutella Cheesecake - a rich and creamy delight that melted in our mouths with every bite. And for those who wanted a burst of fruity goodness, there was the tangy Blueberry pie, filled with plump and juicy berries that complemented the buttery crust perfectly.
While the mouthwatering desserts were the star of the show, Thanksgiving at our house is about more than just food. It's about coming together as a family and creating lasting memories. That's why we have a tradition of playing board games throughout the day. From more well-known favorites like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride to strategic challenges like Suburbia and Galaxy Trucker, our game collection offers something for everyone.
And to end the evening on a high note, we gather around the TV to compete in Mario Party on the Nintendo Switch. The playful rivalry, laughter, and cheers fill the room as we navigate through virtual game boards, aiming for those coveted stars. It's the perfect way to bond, unwind, and enjoy some friendly competition after a day filled with delicious food and quality time.
So, yes, Banana Cream Pie may sound unconventional for Thanksgiving, but at our house, it's all about embracing the unexpected while cherishing the traditions that bring us together. With a variety of pies to please every palate and the thrill of board games and Mario Party, our Thanksgiving celebration is a unique and delightful experience that everyone eagerly looks forward to each year.
